Track Reviews (retired)

The track review feature has been retired. It generated reviews attributed to publications that do not exist, which is a liability for any artist who shows them to a real curator or booking agent. Existing packages remain available to their owners and are no longer shown publicly.

Track Reviews has been retired

The review feature at /review is no longer available, and it was withdrawn on purpose rather than for lack of interest.

Why

It generated reviews attributed to publications that do not exist, along with press kits containing details nobody could verify: venue sizes, tour riders, quotes credited to invented magazines.

That is a liability handed to the artist. The first curator, playlist editor or booking agent who receives one and searches the publication finds nothing, and the artist is the one who looks like they fabricated press. The damage lands on them, not on us, which is why it was not worth keeping at any level of usage.

It also contradicted everything else we publish. Our specifications are defensible to the pixel: 2048x2732 because Apple's guide says so, 1500px because that is LANDR's floor. Invented press sitting beside that spends the credibility the real numbers earn.

What happens to packages you already made

Nothing has been deleted.

If you already sent one to somebody

Do not use it as press. The reviews and the publications in it were illustrative, not real. If you have shared one with a curator, label or venue, the honest move is a short correction now rather than a harder conversation later.

What is replacing it

The parts of that feature that were genuinely useful are the parts that asserted nothing false: the acoustic analysis of your track, and the video treatment.

A critical listen is in development on that basis. It gives you one honest, specific account of what your track sounds like, built from real measurements of the audio, and it says plainly what produced it: ffmpeg and librosa for the analysis, Whisper for the transcript where the vocal is readable, and Claude for the written critique. No human listens, and it will not claim otherwise.

Feedback you receive in private cannot embarrass you. Credentials you display can. That is the whole difference, and it is why the second version is built the way it is.
