How credit costs work
Every action costs a set number of credits. Image and video models vary a lot; music generation is a flat 20 credits per generation on every Suno model, and each generation returns two takes for that one price.
You always see the exact credit cost on the model picker before you generate, and the full per-model cost list is on the pricing page. Subscription credits refresh each billing cycle; bundle credits never expire.
Current music models
Every Suno model below costs the same 20 credits per generation, so pick on sound rather than price. Suno v6 is the default.
Suno v6
The default and the newest. Richest production and the best all-rounder. Use this unless you have a reason not to.
Suno v6 Wild
More experimental. Leans into unexpected choices and genre-blending. Worth trying when the standard model plays it too safe.
Suno v6 Mini
Lighter and faster. Good for quick ideas and high-volume sketching before you commit.
Suno v5.5 and v5
Previous generations. Kept because some people prefer their sound on particular genres.
Suno v4.5 and v4
Older still. v4.5 and above generate up to 8 minutes; v4 and v3.5 cap at 4 minutes.
How long will my song be?
You cannot ask for a specific length. Suno infers it from your lyrics and prompt, so the single biggest lever on song length is how much lyric content you give it. A short prompt with no lyrics tends to produce a short piece; a full lyric sheet produces a full song. v4.5 and everything above it can reach 8 minutes.
Continuing a song with Extend
Extend continues one of your existing songs from a point you choose - it is not a way to make a song longer. Pick a track in Music Editing, set Continue At to the moment you want it to carry on from, and Suno writes onward from there, keeping the original song's style, vocals and lyrics.
Because it starts from your chosen point rather than the end, the result is often shorter than the original, and that is normal. Extend costs 20 credits and returns two takes, saved as <your song> Extended V1 and V2.
Extend works with songs generated on AetherWave.
How to stretch credits
- All Suno models cost the same, so there is no cheaper model to draft on. Draft with shorter prompts and fewer lyrics instead, then commit once the direction is right.
- Hit the quest system. Onboarding quests pay out 10 credits each, 80 credits total across 8 quests. Current list and your progress are in the gift box, the gold gift icon in the top header bar; see where to find the gift box.
- Bundle purchases. Bundles never expire. Subscription credits reset monthly. If you generate in bursts, bundles give better value per credit.

Audio downloads: MP3 and WAV
Every song downloads as an MP3 on any plan. Lossless WAV downloads are a Studio and above perk (Studio, Artist, Producer, Mogul, Ultimate).
The WAV is a genuine lossless re-render from the original master, not an MP3 renamed to .wav. Grab it from a track's Download or Save menu, or re-render a saved song any time with the Lossless WAV tool in Music Editing. Because a real WAV comes from the original generation, it is available for songs you made on AetherWave, not for uploaded or imported audio.
