How to Play 2048

The goal

Slide numbered tiles together to merge matching values and reach the 2048 tile without filling the board.

2048 is the addictive sliding number puzzle, rebuilt here with a circuit-board board and beveled chip tiles that glow as they grow. Every move slides all tiles in one direction, and when two tiles of the same number touch they merge into one worth double. A new tile appears after each move, so the board slowly fills up.

Strategy and scoring tips

• Pick one corner and keep your highest tile locked there. Only move in the three directions that never disturb it.

• Save your three undos for genuine mistakes, not experiments. A single bad slide can strand your big tile in the middle.
