How to Play Wave Invaders

The goal

Blast a descending swarm of synth-wave aliens from your cannon while dodging their fire, and defeat the dreadnought bosses.

Wave Invaders is a neon space shooter inspired by the arcade legend Space Invaders. You command a cannon at the bottom of the screen, sliding side to side to blast a formation of alien attackers that fly in on choreographed bezier paths, break into diving runs, and rain fire back at you.

• Left and right arrow keys to move your cannon
• Space to fire
• On mobile, use the on-screen move and fire buttons
• P or Esc to pause

Strategy and scoring tips

• Thin out the edges of the formation first so fewer aliens can flank you as the swarm speeds up.
• Keep moving. A stationary cannon is an easy target once the divers start their runs.
• On boss waves, learn the fire pattern and shoot in the gaps between its volleys rather than trading shots head-on.
