Claude Desktop supports remote MCP connectors with OAuth, which is the smoothest way to use AetherWave anywhere: you click Connect, approve access in your browser, and the tools appear. No config file editing, no API key to paste.

The AetherWave MCP server exposes 16 generation tools (music via Suno, image generation and editing, video generation, upscaling, background removal, reframing, and audio mastering) as native tools your agent in Claude Desktop can call. No SDK, no per-provider API keys, no polling loops to write. Every generation auto-saves to your AetherWave gallery on Cloudflare R2.

Step 1: Get your API key

Create a free AetherWave account and copy your API key (starts with aw_live_) from the Developer tab on your Profile page. New accounts get free starter credits, so you can test without spending anything.

Step 2: Add AetherWave to Claude Desktop

Add AetherWave as a remote connector and authorize it with one click, no API key to copy:

Open Settings > Connectors (or claude_desktop_config.json), add the URL above, and approve the one-time OAuth consent in your browser. The tools appear immediately.

Step 3: Generate

Restart Claude Desktop and ask it to make something. For example:

Claude Desktop calls aetherwave_generate_music and aetherwave_generate_image in sequence and hands back finished, hosted URLs. You can check your balance any time with aetherwave_balance.

Prefer a local install with a static API key instead? Edit claude_desktop_config.json and add the standard npx server block (command npx, args -y @aetherwave-studio/mcp, env AETHERWAVE_API_KEY). The remote connector is recommended because it is one click and there is no key sitting in a config file.
