Continue is an open-source AI code assistant for VS Code and JetBrains that supports MCP servers. Add AetherWave and your Continue agent can generate and edit media without leaving the IDE.

The AetherWave MCP server exposes 16 generation tools (music via Suno, image generation and editing, video generation, upscaling, background removal, reframing, and audio mastering) as native tools your agent in Continue can call. No SDK, no per-provider API keys, no polling loops to write. Every generation auto-saves to your AetherWave gallery on Cloudflare R2.

Quick facts

Step 1: Get your API key

Create a free AetherWave account and copy your API key (starts with aw_live_) from the Developer tab on your Profile page. New accounts get free starter credits, so you can test without spending anything.

Step 2: Add AetherWave to Continue

Add this block to ~/.continue/config.json (or config.yaml mcpServers):

Replace aw_live_your_key_here with your real key, save, and reload Continue.

Step 3: Generate

Restart Continue and ask it to make something. For example:

Continue calls aetherwave_generate_music and aetherwave_generate_image in sequence and hands back finished, hosted URLs. You can check your balance any time with aetherwave_balance.
