MCP Glossary

What is a Claude music MCP?

A Claude music MCP is an MCP server that adds music generation to Claude (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or Claude.ai) so you can ask Claude to create a song and it returns finished audio. The AetherWave MCP server is one such option, generating music via Suno and billing your own credits.

Bringing music into Claude

Claude on its own cannot produce audio, but with a music MCP connected it can call a generation tool and hand back a real track. You connect once, then ask in plain language: write an upbeat synthwave intro for my podcast.

Claude calls the server's music tool, which generates the track and returns a hosted URL. With AetherWave that tool is aetherwave_generate_music, powered by Suno.

Setup options

In Claude Code, install with one command (claude mcp add). In Claude Desktop or Claude.ai, use the remote OAuth connector for a one-click setup with no API key to manage. Either way, the same tools become available.

New AetherWave accounts include free starter credits, so you can generate your first track without paying.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Claude really make music?

Claude itself does not generate audio, but with a music MCP server connected it can call a generation tool and return finished tracks. AetherWave provides this via Suno.

Does it work in the Claude web app?

Yes. Claude.ai supports remote connectors, so you can add the AetherWave connector and generate music in the browser with no install.
