Program status
The daily streak is closed to accounts created on or after 26 July 2026. If your account was created before that date nothing changes: your streak keeps running and milestone credits keep posting exactly as described below.
Newer accounts do not have a streak counter and will not see the streak pill in the header. Nothing else on the account is affected. To try out paid features on a new account, use the quests in the notification bell - those stay open to everyone.
What it is
Every eligible user gets a daily login streak. Each calendar day you visit AetherWave, the streak ticks up by 1. Reaching certain milestone days posts bonus credits to your account.
How credits are awarded
Credits post on milestone days only. Days in between advance your streak counter but do not add credits.
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| Day 3 | +15 credits |
| Day 7 | +20 credits |
| Day 14 | +30 credits |
| Day 30 | +100 credits |
| Day 60 | +200 credits |
| Day 100 | +500 credits |
| Day 101+ | Streak keeps climbing; no further payouts at the moment |
Total payout for a 100-day perfect streak: 865 credits.
How a "day" is counted
The streak ticks on the first authenticated request per UTC day. In practice that's the first page you load each day while signed in - you don't have to manually re-login, just visit the site.
- Multiple visits in the same UTC day: streak advances only once (no double counting).
- Miss a single UTC day: forgiven, and your streak is held rather than broken. An occasional missed day or an accidental sign-out will not end your streak. It does not advance for a day you were away, so the count stays where it was and you start climbing again on your next consecutive day. Credits only post on milestone days, so a held day never pays.
- Miss two or more UTC days in a row: your streak ends, and it does not restart. The programme has been closing by attrition since 26 July 2026, so a broken streak is final rather than a reset to day 1.
- The day boundary is UTC (midnight UTC). For US Mountain Time that's 6 PM the previous day; for Argentina that's 9 PM the previous day.
Where you see your streak
A streak pill in the header is visible on every page. It shows:
- "Start your streak" when your current streak is 0
- "Day N streak" when you have an active streak
- "+N credits!" with a gold pulse animation on milestone days you just hit
Tap the pill to open the timeline panel - a horizontal view of all 6 milestones with your current position marked, claimed milestones in cyan, and upcoming milestones in neutral. The footer shows how many days until your next payout and your lifetime streak credits earned.
Notifications
Each time your streak ticks up, you get two things:
- A row in the notification bell ("Day 4 streak" or "1-week streak! +20 credits")
- A PWA push notification if you've opted in (Settings on
/profile)
Non-milestone day notifications include a "next payout in N days" hint so you always know the next carrot.
Frequently asked
- Do I have to log out and log in to count? No - just visit any AetherWave page while you're already signed in.
- What time does the day reset? Midnight UTC. Check the clock on your profile if you're trying to time it.
- I missed a day - does my streak reset? A single missed day is automatically forgiven and your streak is held, not broken. It stays at the same number rather than advancing, because a day you were away is not a day on the streak, and you resume climbing on your next consecutive visit. Miss two or more days in a row and the streak ends for good - it does not restart at day 1. There are no manual save tokens; the one-day grace is built in.
- Does my streak stop after day 100? No - the counter keeps climbing. There are no further milestone payouts beyond 100 today; we may add new tiers later.
- Are paid subscribers eligible? Yes, everyone gets streak rewards on top of their plan credits.
- Why didn't I get 5 credits today? The system does not pay 5 credits per day. Credits only post on milestone days (3, 7, 14, 30, 60, 100). The other days advance your streak counter only.
