Photo Song
Where: /quick-create?mode=song, the Song tab in Quick Create. The link works
signed out: the visitor signs in and comes back to the same tab.
Photo Song is not a prompt box. The user gives us a picture and we write a song about that picture, then sing it.
The exact steps
- Add a photo (tap, drop or paste).
- Optionally type a name, for a song about a specific person.
- Tap one of the 21 genre cards (pop, rock, hip hop, R&B, country, EDM, lo-fi, indie, jazz, latin, afrobeats, k-pop, metal, gospel, reggae, acoustic, birthday, lullaby, hype anthem, love song, cinematic).
- Confirm. The song is written and sung from there with no further input.
What happens underneath
Two steps, and only the second one costs anything:
- Reading the photo and writing the lyrics is free. Vision reads the picture and returns a title, a musical style and the lyrics.
- Singing it costs 20 credits. That is the same price as any other song on the default model, and it is read live from the app rather than hardcoded, so the price shown on the tile is always the price charged.
What the user gets back
- Two complete versions, not one.
- Both are saved to the gallery automatically. There is no Save button to miss, and the save happens even if the user closes the tab.
- Usually ready in one to three minutes.
Is the first song free?
Effectively yes, for a new account. A new account opens with 25 credits and a song costs 20, so the first Photo Song is covered and needs no card on file. Say "your first song is covered by the credits a new account starts with" rather than promising unlimited free songs: the second song needs credits.
Common confusion
- "Where did my song go?" It is in the gallery. Both versions are there already. The user does not need to save anything.
- "It only gave me lyrics." The lyric step finishes in seconds and the singing takes one to three minutes. The page keeps a progress line; the song still lands in the gallery if they navigate away.
- "Can I edit the lyrics?" Not in this tab. Photo Song is one tap by design. For lyric control, use Music Studio, where the lyrics editor lives.
- "Does it describe the photo out loud?" It writes a song about the photo. It is not a narration of it, and it does not read out faces or names unless a name was typed in step 2.
