Audio upload issues

Why your audio file got rejected, why Soul Forge analysis looks wrong, and how to get a clean upload on the first try.

Accepted formats

AetherWave accepts: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG.

Why your upload is failing

"File too large"

Compress to MP3 at 192 kbps. A 4-minute song at that bitrate is roughly 6 MB - well under the limit. Use a free tool like Audacity or an online converter.

"Unsupported format"

The file extension does not match the actual file contents. This happens when someone renames a .webm to .mp3 or exports from a DAW with a weird container. Re-export as a real MP3 or WAV from your source tool.

"Audio file is corrupt"

The file header is damaged or the file was truncated during transfer. Re-download the original or re-export from your DAW.

Upload stalls at 99%

Your browser uploaded the file but our backend has not confirmed yet. Wait 30 seconds - large files can take a moment to hit R2 storage. If it still sits there, refresh the page and retry.

Soul Forge: why the analysis looks wrong

Soul Forge uses librosa (Python audio analysis) to extract tempo, key, genre hints, and energy profile from your upload. If the analysis is nonsense:

If the analysis is clearly off but the audio is a normal music track, report it - we tune the analysis constantly.

Music Studio cover-from-upload

When you upload a track for Suno cover generation:

  1. The first 30 seconds get sent as the reference. Pick a file where the first 30s represents the song.
  2. Very complex arrangements (orchestra, dense hip-hop, black metal) cover less cleanly than pop, rock, folk, electronic.
  3. The cover inherits tempo, key, and feel - but Suno adds its own interpretation of the lyrics you provide.

When to reach support

If you have tried all of the above and a clean MP3 is still rejected, include:

  1. File size and duration
  2. What tool you exported it from (Ableton, Logic, GarageBand, online converter, etc.)
  3. The exact error message shown on the upload page
