AI Metal Album Art Generator
Metal Album Art - The Visual Identity of Metal
Metal album art is bold, dark, and unapologetic - from thrash and death metal's visceral imagery to progressive metal's cosmic landscapes. AI-generated metal covers lean into dramatic contrasts, skulls, fire, dark fantasy, and intricate detail work.
With AetherWave's free AI Album Art Generator, you can create professional metal album covers by uploading your track and choosing from 8 art styles. The AI understands the visual language of metal and generates artwork that fits.

What Makes Great Metal Album Art
The visual language of metal draws from specific imagery and aesthetics: skulls, fire, dark fantasy landscapes, gothic architecture, battle scenes, demonic imagery.
When using the AI generator, you can describe these elements in the optional prompt field. For example, try prompts like "Dark throne in a burning cathedral, gothic and menacing" to guide the AI toward authentic metal visuals.
Prompt tips for Metal covers
- Reference specific visual elements from the metal aesthetic
- Describe the mood and atmosphere you want to capture
- Mention color palettes that fit the genre
- Keep it short - the AI works best with 1-2 sentence descriptions
Square vs Portrait Format
The generator offers two formats: Square (1:1) for traditional album covers, Spotify, Apple Music, and Instagram posts. Portrait (9:16) for Instagram Stories, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Reels.
For metal specifically, square format works best for album releases and playlist covers, while portrait is ideal for promoting tracks on social media with the animated cover feature.
Animated Metal Covers
After generating your metal album art, you can animate it into a looping video and merge it with your audio track. This creates a shareable MP4 that works perfectly on social media - the visual moves while your track plays.
The 5-second Seedance Lite animation is free with an account. Longer animations and premium models are available with credits.
