YouTube Thumbnail Best Practices for Metal Music

Great metal thumbnails share these qualities:

High contrast - Bold colors and strong light/dark separation so the image pops at 120px wide
Single focal point - One clear subject, not a busy collage
Genre-authentic visuals - skulls, fire, dark fantasy landscapes - viewers should instantly recognize the metal vibe
Clean composition - Leave space for YouTube's timestamp overlay in the bottom-right

When using the AI generator, try prompts like "Burning throne room with skull, dark and dramatic, strong center composition" to get thumbnails that feel authentic to metal while being visually striking at small sizes.
