Grok Imagine

Grok Imagine Image Generator

Grok Imagine is xAI's image generation model. It takes a text prompt and returns images, and it is one of several frontier models you can run on AetherWave from a single studio. Grok is known for being fast, for returning two variations per prompt, and for a playful, less-literal read of prompts that some creators love for ideation.

This page covers what Grok Imagine is, what it is good at, and exactly how to use it on AetherWave - including how Artist members get a monthly Grok allotment built in.

The honest free offer

We want to be clear because Google and users both punish vague free claims. Grok Imagine is not free for the whole internet. It is free for AetherWave Artist members: the Artist plan ($24.99/mo) includes 100 Grok Imagine generations every month. Because Grok returns two images per prompt, that is up to 200 images a month with no per-image charge on top.

What Grok Imagine is good at

Where other models may fit better

No single model wins everything. For photoreal precision and accurate text rendering, GPT Image 2 (DALL-E lineage) is often the stronger pick. For surgical edits to an existing image, Google's Nano Banana excels. For maximum control and open-source style range, Flux is a favorite. The advantage of AetherWave is that you do not have to choose up front - all of these live in the same studio.

How to use Grok Imagine on AetherWave

  1. Open the Image Studio and select Grok Imagine in the model picker.
  2. Type your prompt. Grok works well with short, vivid prompts - see our Grok Imagine prompt guide.
  3. Generate. Grok returns two variations.
  4. Pick your favorite, then download, animate into a clip, or push it into album art or a Soul Forge band identity.
