Longer shots

How to make an AI video longer than one generation

A single run gives you a few seconds. Chaining runs by seeding each one from the previous last frame is how a short clip becomes a long shot.

The rendered chain: two approved takes written to one 24 second video.

Length comes from chaining, not from one bigger run

Asking a model for a much longer single clip usually costs more and drifts more. Chaining keeps each run short, which is where these models are strongest, and builds length out of several of them.

Because every link starts from a real frame of the previous take rather than from a text description of it, the hand-off carries the actual lighting, framing and subject rather than an approximation.

You decide the length as you go

There is no length to commit to up front. Extend once, watch it, and extend again if the shot still has somewhere to go. Stop when it does not.

Render chain then writes the approved takes into a single video, so the finished file is as long as the part you kept.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is chaining cheaper than one long generation?

Each run is priced on its own, and the editor shows a live estimate before anything generates. Chaining lets you stop as soon as the shot is long enough rather than paying for a length you guessed at in advance.

Does quality drop as the chain gets longer?

Each link starts from a real frame, so the hand-off itself is faithful. Drift accumulates the way it does in any generated sequence, which is exactly why each take gets its own approve toggle instead of being accepted automatically.
